| Kerry D. Smith, born in Louisville, Kentucky, received his bachelor's degree in history cum laude at Western Kentucky University where he was a member of the history honors program. He earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Kentucky. While in law school he was a member of the University of Kentucky's National Moot Court Team that went to the national championship round of the 1988-89 National Moot Court Competition held at and sponsored by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Kentucky's National Team finished as first runner-up in the nation and along the way it was awarded the Lewis Powell Award for Excellence in Advocacy during the regional finals at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Smith also was the recipient of the Leland Award for Best Oral Argument during school moot court competition at the University of Kentucky. Mr. Smith is a member of the McCracken County, Kentucky and American Bar Associations, and his practice focuses on litigation and appeals. |
